Head of the Division for Materials and Technologies for Sustainable Manufacturing, ENEA – Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development
Giuseppe Barbieri (PhD, EWE) holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (summa cum laude) from the University of Calabria and a PhD in Machine Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari. A certified European Welding Engineer through the Italian Institute of Welding, he joined ENEA in 1999, where he currently serves as Head of the Division for Materials and Technologies for Sustainable Manufacturing.
In recent years, he has spearheaded the development of advanced industrial welding processes for the aerospace, aeronautics, nuclear fusion, and Generation IV fission sectors. He is a member of the Academic Board for the PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications.
