From Low Altitude to Orbit: CIRI Aerospace for a Space Economy that Benefits Local Communities

Emilia-Romagna Region Booth, Hall C1

Based at the Forlì-Cesena Technopole, CIRI Aerospace, the University of Bologna’s Interdepartmental Research Centre, is a key driver of applied research and technology transfer for Emilia-Romagna’s aerospace economy. As part of a Technopole that acts as a regional hub within the Emilia-Romagna High Technology Network, CIRI Aerospace connects research excellence with industrial innovation. The session will take participants on a journey from low altitude to orbit, showcasing some of the Centre’s leading areas of expertise: guidance and navigation systems for atmospheric and space applications, the sustainability of space operations, and innovative space propulsion technologies. Through examples of research activities, infrastructures and collaborative projects, participants will discover how these technologies can generate new opportunities for the aerospace sector while also enabling knowledge transfer and innovation across non-space industries.
