The Role of National Space Agencies and International Cooperation in the New Space Economy

Within the context of the New Space Economy, the role of national space agencies has evolved significantly. Alongside the conception and management of space missions primarily focused on science and exploration, they have taken on the task of devising, managing, and coordinating missions aimed at technological and industrial development—often with economic and entrepreneurial dimensions—in collaboration with private investors and operators. Furthermore, international cooperation has intensified, driven not only by the need to optimize investments and achieve economies of scale but also by the necessity of sharing fundamental objectives and effectively coordinating activities.
