Alfredo Renga

Alfredo Renga is an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II, where he has worked since 2010. He teaches Aerospace Systems and Remote Sensing, Space Mission Design and Systems for Autonomous Aircraft. He also teaches Aerospace Remote Sensing Systems at the Italian Air Force Academy. He is a member of the Doctoral Board of the Scuola Superiore Meridionale, Italy. His main scientific interests cover applications of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) for earth observation, vision-based autonomous navigation in planetary environments, and GNSS techniques for navigating aerospace platforms. Since 2023 he has been leader of the Aerospace Remote Sensing System research group at the University of Naples Federico II. He has led numerous research projects funded or sponsored by public and private bodies, including the Italian Space Agency, the European Space Agency, DLR, the Italian Ministry of Defense and Thales Alenia Space Italy. He is the author of over 200 publications, frequently quoted in the scientific literature.
