Benedetta Ferrari

Benedetta Ferrari is co-founder and COO of 4OPT S.r.l., a spin-off of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE) that designs tailor-made decision support systems, combining data analytics, artificial intelligence and optimization algorithms to improve decision-making in areas such as logistics, production and resource management. She holds a Master's degree in Management Engineering from UNIMORE and earned her PhD in Industrial Innovation Engineering in 2026, with a thesis on the observation scheduling of the MARSIS radar aboard the ESA Mars Express mission. At 4OPT she leads the operational coordination of client projects. She is also responsible for grant writing and project management, covering both national and European funding calls. Alongside this, she remains active in research as a post-doctoral researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Research and Innovation Center (AIRI) at UNIMORE. Her work is driven by an interest in innovation and in applying artificial intelligence to complex problems, with a particular focus on projects that bring together scientific rigour and measurable real-world impact.
