Francesco Lodi holds a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Bologna, with a specialization in the core design of innovative reactors. Since 2019, he has been working at the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA), at the Bologna branch, dealing with the core design of nuclear fission reactors, related fuel cycle analyses and nuclear safety. He has participated in numerous expert groups and international projects in the above-mentioned fields. Since 2024, he has been coordinator of the SELENE project, co-funded by ASI, focused on energy production for lunar bases through the use of nuclear fission reactors.
