Gabriele Carugati

Gabriele Carugati, Ph.D., is Station Leader of the Italian-French Concordia station in Antarctica, one of the most isolated human outposts on the planet and considered an important terrestrial analog for future long-duration space missions. He coordinates base operations, personnel safety and support for international scientific activities in an extreme environment characterized by isolation, autonomy and exceptional climatic conditions. His work focuses on leadership in high-complexity contexts, risk management and the organization of remote missions, with particular attention to the transfer of these skills towards the challenges of future exploration.
