Gilles Mariotti

Born in 1985, aerospace engineer with a master's degree and PhD obtained in Forlì, at the second faculty of Engineering of the University of Bologna. Academic background in microsatellites and support for Radioscience experiments on ESA and NASA interplanetary probes (Cassini, Juno, Bepi Colombo). Has been working as a mission analyst at Sitael since 2016: over these ten years he has participated in various space programmes with the ESA and ASI space agencies, including ESEO, microHetSat (for which he also served as flight operations manager), the PLATiNO, EAGLE, and IRIDE satellites. He recently led the HiBiDiS mission proposal, a hyperspectral Earth observation experiment for biodiversity monitoring, selected by ESA under the SCOUT missions programme with a launch in 2030. Expert in the definition of Earth observation experiments, services and space systems, with particular interest in regulatory and technical developments aimed at mitigating space debris. He constantly collaborates with space agencies and key industrial players in the European space economy.
