Kamel Besbes

Professor Kamel BESBES is a Full Professor of Electronics and Micro- and Nanoelectronics at the Research Center on Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (CRMN), Sousse Technopole, Tunisia. He also serves as Scientific Advisor to the Tunisian National Space Commission (CNEEA) and advises the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on Tunisia's association with the Horizon Europe Programme, particularly within the Digital, Industry and Space Cluster. He previously served as Director General of CRMN and Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of Monastir. He is Chair of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council Tunisia Chapter, founder of UNISEC Tunisia, and Chair of the annual SPACESTAR Conference. An active contributor to international space cooperation, Professor BESBES represents Tunisia at international events and the STC-COPUOS, contributes to UNESCO initiatives on Artificial Intelligence and Ethics, and participates in activities organized by the UNOOSA and IAF. His research focuses on the integration of neural networks and quantum operators, advanced instrumentation, nanosatellite technologies, and space systems. He has coordinated numerous national and international research projects, supervised 26 Ph.D. candidates, and authored more than 300 scientific publications, conference papers, and book chapters.
