Mara Mirasoli

Mara Mirasoli is an Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Bologna and conducts her research activities at the Tecnopolo di Rimini. She is the scientific referent for the Space Science and Technology Unit of the CIRI Aerospace at the University of Bologna. Her scientific activity focuses mainly on the development of biosensors with optical detection, in particular chemiluminescence. Over the last ten years, this activity has focused in particular on the development of portable bioanalytical devices for life science studies in the space environment, including monitoring of astronauts' health status, astrobiology research and experiments on living cells in space laboratories. She is PI and co-PI of several projects funded by the Italian Space Agency, the Italian Ministry of University and the Horizon Europe programme.
