Marco Molina

Biography

Marco Molina Graduated with honours in Aeronautical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, where he obtained a PhD in Aerospace Engineering. He has been working for more than 30 years in the Italian national aerospace industry: since 2019 he has been at Sitael, a company of the Angel group, where he holds the position of Chief Strategy Officer and International Relations Director. He was the first person in the world to test graphene under microgravity conditions, on a parabolic flight in 2018. He has contributed to more than twenty space missions, including the AGILE satellite, which recently concluded a successful multi-decade mission, LISA Pathfinder, the high-energy physics experiment on the International Space Station AMS-02, and PRISMA, the most powerful hyperspectral observation instrument in Earth orbit. His latest mission: microHETSat, the satellite that brought Italian plasma propulsion to operate in space for the first time in history. He has a passion for mountains, astronomy, nature and the education of younger generations. In 2022 he received the honour from the President of the Republic 'Stella al Merito del Lavoro'.
