Maurizia Brunetti

Biography

Graduated in environmental engineering with a PhD in agricultural engineering and an MBA from Bologna Business School, she became a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) within the Hera Group, developing technical audits on the Group's networks and waste treatment plants. She led innovation and circular economy activities in the water sector, with a particular focus on network resilience, leak detection and smart metering, as well as ecological transition topics such as resource reuse, material recovery and decarbonisation. She collaborated with the University of Bologna on several projects concerning the resilience and sustainability of water supply and sewage-treatment systems. Since January 2025, she has been coordinating open innovation projects for the Hera Group, focusing on the integration of innovative technologies into business processes, such as satellite processing for infrastructure/smart cities, new materials and process treatments, field robotics, in support of the Hera Group's strategic objectives.
