Mauro Sampellegrini

Mauro Sampellegrini is Director of Research, Innovation and Sustainability at Confindustria Moda, where he leads strategic initiatives supporting the competitiveness and technological transformation of the Italian textile, fashion and technical textiles industries. His work focuses on connecting companies, public institutions, universities and research organisations to translate emerging technologies and industrial challenges into concrete opportunities for business. He coordinates collaborative programmes and public–private partnerships in advanced materials, artificial intelligence, sustainable manufacturing, circular economy and European research and innovation. He also coordinates the Technical Textiles Working Group within the Italian National Aerospace Technology Cluster (CTNA), promoting cooperation between the textile industry and the aerospace and defence sectors. In this role, he contributed to the development of the White Paper 'Technical Textiles for Space', aimed at identifying technological applications, industrial capabilities and new opportunities for the Italian supply chain. He regularly represents Confindustria Moda in national and European working groups dedicated to industrial policy, innovation and competitiveness.
