Paolo Cergna

Biography

Graduated in Aerospace Engineering with a thesis on the design of a prototype of a Space Greenhouse to support long-duration missions, he has been working in ALTEC since 2008 as a Logistics Engineer and since 2018 he is Head of the Integrated Logistics Engineering Unit. He mainly deals with Logistic Support under the ESA TLO (Training, Logistics and Operations) Contract to the operations on Columbus, the European laboratory of the International Space Station. His duties are particularly focused on the definition of maintenance plans, planning and execution of logistic tasks for spares, experiments and bonus food; he is also involved in the engineering support provided by ALTEC to NASA for the activities of the PMM module under the contract with ASI, including the development of the Upgraded version of the Logistics Information System (LIS-Up), and as Payload Manager as part of the UTISS service to support the Italian use on the ISS. Married and proudly father of Cecè, he is passionate about travel and sports, he loves to devote his free time to helping young volleyball players to cultivate their dreams.
